This video presentation was designed to educate and inform the Jackson community of the history and challenges facing the Jackson Fire Department in the current Fire Station. It provides information about the pressing needs, a range of ideas on how to meet them, and the projected costs. We appreciate everyone taking the time to watch this video and welcome any questions you would like to share. Please send them to jacksonfiredept@gmail.com or attend the Public Informational Hearing scheduled for Thursday, November 16th at 6:30pm at the Fire Station.
The Jackson Select Board and the Jackson Fire Department are continuing efforts to look at the future for options for a new fire station. The process of renovating and rehabilitation began in 2019 at the request of Selectmen. The original fire station, built in 1947 currently requires extensive repair and rehabilitations to meet current life safety and building codes. We encourage all taxpayers and residents to review the 2021 Feasibility Study report for a new fire station posted below. The proposed new Fire Station will be on the March 2024 ballot!
We will continue to have at discussions at future Select Board meetings and encourage all taxpayers and residents to attend these meetings to stay informed. Meeting minutes are available HERE.
