DUMP STORE NEWS: The Bartlett Jackson Dump Store is updating their policy regarding furniture and other large items.  There has consistently been a substantial amount of furniture and other large items left at the Dump Store that do not find new homes.  This necessitates the employees taking the items to the construction debris dumpsters, where the towns pay to haul them away.  Starting Monday, December 13, 2021 furniture and related items will be subject to the same fees as construction debris.  The attendant will check your items and collect your fee.  Items may still be placed in the Dump Store after the fee has been paid.

BURN PIT INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Non-treated wood without nails can go into the burn pits.
  • All ribbons and decorations must be removed from wreaths and trees.
  • Painted, glued, press board or anything with nails can NOT go into the burn pit. It must go into the construction container and there is a fee.

Transfer Station stickers are mandatory and must be on your vehicle. These stickers can be obtained thru the Town Clerk-Tax Collector Office and the Selectmen's Office during normal business hours. They can also be obtained by submitting a transfer station sticker request form located on our website and sent with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Jackson residents are allowed 2 stickers per property (no matter how many vehicles are registered). If you have more than 2 vehicles you may choose which 2 to take to the transfer station.

As of January 1, 2008. RSA 149-M:58 bans the disposal of mercury-added products at any solid waste landfill, transfer station, recycling facility or incinerator. Homeowners and businesses alike are affected     by the ban on such items as thermometers, thermostats, electrical switches, mercury button cell batteries and fluorescent light bulbs, including compact fluorescent bulbs.

Illegal dumping can and will result in a $250.00 fine; including knowingly disposing of a fee item without paying the required fee.
