The Town Building Inspector reviews building permit applications and the town engineer reviews septic systems applications before permits can be issued. Residential building permit applications, for one and two family homes, are reviewed for compliance with the Jackson Zoning Ordinance. Multi family housing (3 family or more) and all commercial building permit applications are reviewed for compliance with NFPA and ICC Codes as adopted by the State of New Hampshire. Septic system applications must be reviewed and found to be in compliance with Jackson Zoning requirements before being sent to the State for a final approval.

Permits and regulations, which fall under his responsibility, include:

  • Building permits for new structures, renovation, remodeling or expansion of existing structures
  • Building permits for new swimming pools
  • New septic systems must have town approval
  • Replacement septic systems must have town approval

  • Driveway Permit/Approval (Town Road) – From the Jackson Highway Department
  • Driveway Permit/Approval (State Road) – From NHDOT in Lancaster, New Hampshire
