Safe at Home, Online House Check Program

Good Morning Jackson!
I hope this message finds you all well as we rush into the holiday season!  It is a time for all of us to enjoy family and friends, and special moments together.  Often times these activities involve travel, leaving your home and property unattended.  The Jackson Police Department has implemented a new service that can help us more effectively safeguard your property while your away.

We recently created the “Safe at Home”, Online House Check Program, and I wanted to take a moment to let you know how it works.  If you are leaving your home in Jackson for a period of time, and would like the police to know, and keep an eye on things, we have an online form you can access.  On our Police webpage, which is accessed by going to https://www.jackson-nh.org/police-department you can find the link entitled, “Safe at Home” Online House Check Form.  Simply click on the link, fill out the form and hit submit!  This will provide us with all the information we need to check on your property while your away.

Property crimes are the greatest risk we face in a tourist based community.  Criminals know that areas such as ours have many empty homes, which are tempting targets for thieves.  Vigilance and police presence are proven tactics in our ongoing crime prevention efforts.  Some of our residents have already benefited from this program and it is our hope that by making registration a “click” away, it will encourage more people to enroll.

Here’s wishing you and yours the best in the upcoming season, and know that with your help, the Jackson Police Department will keep you, “Safe at Home”.

Regards,
Chief Chris Perley
