Roam to Home Dog Rescue Program

Dog owners understand that a dog is truly a member of the family.  They provide us love, companionship and ever-lasting devotion.  They enrich our lives in so many ways.  A dog that wanders, or is lost within our community, can be stressful for the owners and the beloved pet.  Even worse, a roaming dog can sometimes be hurt, spend days at the animal shelter, or worse, be lost forever.  This is what has prompted us to develop the Jackson Police Department "ROAM TO HOME" Dog Rescue Program.

This program of dog registration within the Town of Jackson will help us identify and reunite lost or roaming dogs with their rightful owners.  Some of you may be thinking, "but I already register my dog with the Town when I get their tags?"  This is true, but due to State privacy laws, the only information that can be shared between the Town Clerk and the Police regarding dogs is information on UNREGISTERED dogs.  This creates an information gap when a dog is either not currently registered, is not wearing their tags, or has lost their collar while out and about.  These are the key reasons we want to develop a separate database of all the dogs within the Town of Jackson, whether visiting or life-long resident!

All you need to do to participate is fill out the form (CLICK HERE) using Internet Explorer. Once completed, hit the save button and attach the form to an e-mail and send it to: ChiefPerley@jackson-nh.org

This will allow us to review dog breed, color and marking information along with owner contact info as well when we find a roaming dog.  We want to put all our efforts into reuniting pets with their owners before having to resort to the dog pound!  Let's work together to keep our faithful friends safe here in Jackson!
