Drug take back day & Narcan education

Good Morning Jackson! In cooperation with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration, the Jackson Police Department will be participating in NATIONAL DRUG TAKE BACK DAY on SATURDAY APRIL 27TH, 2018 at the JACKSON GRAMMAR SCHOOL 9:00am -1:00pm

This vital program dedicates one day a year to help facilitate the safe disposal of expired or unused medications in communities all across our nation.  From a social and environmental standpoint, this program saves lives.  Safely removing unused medications from homes is the best way to avoid misuse, accidental overdose and even burglaries should criminals suspect that you have pain medicine in your possession.  Environmentally, studies have shown that flushing pills down the toilet, or putting them into landfills can poison our waterways.

The Jackson Police Department will also be joined by the members of the Carroll County Coalition for Public Health (C3PH),

FREE NARCAN EDUCATION and DISTRIBUTION EVENT

This will occur at the same location as the Drug Take Back Day from 10:00am until 11:30am.  NARCAN is a lifesaving drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.  The education portion takes minutes, the NARCAN is FREE and it could SAVE A LIFE!

On SATURDAY, APRIL 27TH from 9:00am -1:00pm, members of the Jackson Police Department will have a "DRIVE-THRU DRUG DROP OFF" site located in front of the JACKSON GRAMMAR SCHOOL.  All you need to do is drive-in, drop off your  expired or unused medications and off you go!  If interested, you can park and chat with the C3PH representatives and receive FREE NARCAN!

Car trouble?  Out of gas?  We'll even come by to pick up the medicine at your home if needed!  Just call 383-9292 and let them know where you are in Jackson.  We will take care of the rest!

Please take a moment to check your medicine cabinet, collect unused or expired medications, and come by and see us at the Jackson Grammar School on SATURDAY, APRIL 27TH.  Lets work together to keep Jackson safe!

Regards,

Chief Chris Perley
