The total acreage in the town is 42,532.96 acres of which 32,177.45 or 76% are controlled by the United States Forest Service and are part of the White Mountain National Forest.

The town itself owns 577.78 acres. Residential land comprises 3627.74 acres, while commercial land comprises 294.14 acres. Overall, 6,433.63 acres are in current use representing 180 parcels and 75 owners.

2020 US Census Information

Over the last 30 years, the population of Jackson has increased; the population change from 1990 (680) to 2020 (1,028) showed an increase of 348 individuals, according to US Census 2020. This increase represents a growth rate of approximately 51.18%.

It is estimated that there are 1,052 housing units, most of which are occupied (500). Vacant housing units total 552, thus confirming the evidence of second homes in the town. The median household income is $64,375, and the median age is 58.2 years.
