Winter is in full swing here in the Valley and along with that comes many interesting and exciting events. As much fun as these events can be, they can also bring with them crowds, and of course traffic! This weekend, January 20th and the 21st, we will have two significant events that will impact traffic slightly. Being aware of these can help you avoid unnecessary delays and maximize your own enjoyment of the season.
Ski Race, MAIN STREET Saturday January 20th. 9:00am-10:00am.
There will be a large ski race hosted by Jackson Ski Touring that will impact traffic slightly. This permitted event will see a temporary road closure on Main Street in front of the touring center from 9:00am until 10:00am. Skiers will negotiate a temporary course directly across the road. During this time the road will be closed to through traffic. Officers will be on scene to assist.
Women's March, MAIN STREET, Sunday January 21st. 12:30pm-2:00pm. This permitted event will see a large group of people marching on Main Street from the covered bridge to the Jackson Grammar School. The group will have police vehicle escorts front and back and no passing or northbound traffic will be allowed while marchers are on the roadway. Once at their destination, traffic will flow as normal. The March is not expected to take the full time allotment and traffic impact should be no more so that the 4th of July parade.
