Jackson PD vs Cancer

The Jackson Police Department is joining forces with the American Cancer Society to lock up Cancer during National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
During the month of October which is breast cancer awareness month.

JPD will be honoring breast cancer patients and survivors by wearing pink badges, the chosen color of breast cancer awareness. Additionally we will be handing out information on the local Breast Cancer Walk, to be held in North Conway on October 14th.  Members of the force will also participate in the walk.

"Many lives are effected by breast cancer, including the families of agency members, we wanted to send a tangible and visible message that we support everyone touched by this disease.  If our actions can inspire others to support cancer research and other causes that seek a cure, our mission is accomplished!”

The idea was first brought up by Patrol Officer First Class Ryan McDonald, whose mother is a survivor. "The entire Department felt it was a great idea.  We all have wives, Moms and daughters that we want healthy ".  The pictures above show the badge in detail as well as Officer McDonald, Sgt. Boothby and Chief Perley displaying their new “heartfelt hardware!
