11/10/2020 - COVID 19 Update from Emergency Management Director

With the holidays fast approaching and COVID cases increasing at startling rates here in NH and across the US, we must remain vigilant regarding the health and wellbeing of our community. Our businesses are working hard to follow NH’s Safer at Home Universal Guidelines, both with their employees and their patrons, so that they may remain open. The Jackson Emergency Management Department would like to remind everyone of the following recommendations and resources to keep our community safe and healthy:

  1. WEAR A MASK
  2. PRACTICE SOCIAL-DISTANCING: Stay at least 6 feet away from others who do not live with you
  3. WASH YOUR HANDS
  4. The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year is to remain home and celebrate with people in your household. If you plan to spend Thanksgiving with people outside your household, or have people coming to visit from out of town, please follow the CDC guidelines posted here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays/thanksgiving.html . You do not want your holiday celebration to be the source of the virus entering into our community or to bring the virus home with you when you return.
  5. The Jackson Public Library (JPL) offers an online forum and community listserv called Jackson Bridge, designed to help unite helpful people with neighbors needing a boost. This will become even more important as the weather grows colder and virus cases continue to increase, resulting in some of our residents not being able to access necessary services and supports.
  6. The Jackson Emergency Management Department has additional information and resources about the COVID-19 pandemic on the town website: https://www.jackson-nh.org/emergency-management/pages/covid-19-novel-coronavirus

Only by working together as a community will we be able to stop the spread of the virus and get through these challenging times.
