Support Jackson Fire Dept

Dear Jackson Resident, Friend, and Supporter,

The members of the Jackson Firefighters’ Association are writing to you for your financial support for a fund-raising project of great importance to the Jackson Fire Department and the Town of Jackson.

The Jackson Firefighters’ Association (JFFA) is the non-profit support organization of the Jackson Fire Department and supplements the annual Fire Department budget in fundraising, training and additional equipment purchases vital to public safety in the community. It is not often that the JFFA embarks on a major public fundraising drive to support our work in the community. The last time this occurred was when the JFFA successfully raised $15,000 in 2009 for the purchase of thermal imaging equipment for community. In 1994 we also raised $25,000 for new vehicle extrication tools and training to outfit our new rescue engine. In the time since these tools were purchased, the department has responded to many serious accidents and incidents and have used the thermal imaging equipment and extrication tools to help many in the community.

Currently the JFFA is actively fundraising for the replacement and upgrade of the 25 year old set of extrication tools originally purchased with community support in 1995. Purchase of a set of new portable, battery- operated extrication tools to complement the 25 year old hydraulic tools will greatly enhance the Jackson Fire Department’s capacity to respond to extrication incidents, especially in remote areas where corded tools will not reach. The new technology of battery operated, portable and mobile tools is an exciting new advancement in rescue and extrication technology. There are countless examples nationwide of lives that have been saved by having these tools available for use in situations that were previously not accessible by old style tools. The Jackson Fire Department has tried several models of cordless extrication tools, and are pleased with their performance. We hope to be able to demonstrate these tools to the community in the near future.

The goal is to raise $35,000 for the purchase of the battery operated extrication equipment and training for its use. The JFFA has raised $10,000 so far, and invite you to please check our fundraising progress on the “thermometer” outside the firehouse in the village, or on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/jacksonfirefightersassociation/

The JFFA asks that you please consider supporting us for this important upgrade in our equipment for the community. We know that this is a very generous community and its residents give its time and resources to many worthy causes and non-profits in the Mount Washington Valley. The JFFA does not come to the community often seeking support, and are in critical need of this vital piece of equipment for the safety of the community and the people that we all treasure. The JFFA is a 501(c) (3) so your donation is fully tax – deductible according to IRS regulations.

Thank you for your consideration and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact any Jackson firefighter personally or e-mail us at: jacksonfiredept@gmail.com.
Checks may be sent to PO Box 329, Jackson, NH 03846 or credit/debit cards may be used by going to the Facebook fundraiser https://www.facebook.com/donate/263927587845599/1679794112151887/
